Assignment #6 - Shape Design

Artist Reflection:
For the sixth assignment in graphic design we had to make a symmetrical shape design. I think the strongest aspect of my work is probably the use of the opacity change. I used this to make it look like the rectangles were going from darker to brighter. I also like the choice of the three colors I used, I think these colors go very well together.  One aspect I think I could improve on is the spacing of my shapes. I think I could make everything more spaced out and make it less active in some spots and more active in others.

Something I found easy about this art activity was the use of the ellipse tool and rectangle tool. This was easy because the shapes I was making were really easy to create, also the color them in was really easy and also very enjoyable. I didn't really find anything that difficult in this project, but if I had to chose one thing it would be the outlining of the circles. I found this confusing a little bit because the settings were some what confusing, but soon I got used to it.

I demonstrated the objective in this project. The objective in this project was to make a symmetrical image with the ellipse and rectangle tool. I did this by using the ellipse tool to make my circles and rectangle tool to make my rectangles. I also had to place my shapes symmetrically and had to keep that in mind while I was placing them. If I were to do this project again I would most likely not put those X's. I wouldn't because I think it takes up a lot of space and doesn't look correct. I enjoyed this project and it was a more easy and calm project that helped me relax while I was completing it.

  1. Excellent job employing the rectangular and elliptical marquis tools to create a symmetrical design. I like the depth created by the value/opacity changes in the rectangles.
